Calvary & St. Cyprian’s, Bushwick

Founded in 1849, Calvary & St. Cyprian's is an Episcopal/Anglican Parish nurturing and supporting its members in exploring their faith. We seek to live as a welcoming community recognizing and valuing differences and praying for the reconciliation of divisions. We exist to serve Christians and the wider community by living out Christ's message, offering hospitality to the stranger, sanctuary for the vulnerable, and empowerment for all people.

PROJECT DETAILS

I met with the Rev. Canon Charles Holdbrooke, who is very interested in beginning this research. As the parish’s earliest records appear to have been destroyed by a fire in 1910, I am looking into other ways of identifying Calvary’s early members.
